Travel Swap Goodies

I received this box of goodies from Lindsey for the travel swap. This little package was full of sweet things and they included little notes on them. She sent the most beautiful earrings with a note saying, "simple yet sassy." She even include a Sudoku book which is one of my favorite airplane activities. I just loved everything so much. Thank you!

Another crochet gift

I have been keeping busy around here. Even with a sick toddler, tired hubby, a day trip to see these at FIDM and visit Oscar before they were given out, and an Oscar party this past week I have been consistently putting in time with my crochet hook working away on this....well I don't want to spoil the surprise completely. I will post the finished product as soon as I finish and give it away.

Jewelry

I am not a big jewelry person but these are just too lovely to pass up. My good friend makes lovely things and I am so happy to see them online where I can share them with you. I love the simplicity and the soft hints of colors. They make me wish it was spring already. Go take a little gander and see what you can't live without.

For Mom

Ever since getting this book, I have had my eyes on these coasters. I finally tried them out as a gift for my mom's birthday. They came together fairly quickly and I am looking forward to trying more with different fabrics and embellishments like Jamie did. I always have to follow the recipe or directions closely the first time around and then I feel free to experiment. I guess that is just the type of person I am.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have never been big about celebrating this holiday the traditional way (over-priced flowers and dinner out). To us it is more about the little things to remind us of our love. This year we celebrated in little ways like heart-shaped pasta I picked up here and yummy heart-shaped toast with cinnamon and sugar. Here's to being surrounded by those we love and who love us.

Travel swap

I debated what to include in my package for the travel swap. I ended up making a little moleskin notebook (from this fabulous book) and some of these luggage tags. One of my biggest frustrations when traveling is having trouble recognizing our luggage quickly so I hope these help Lindsey. Next I think I will have to make myself some too. Then of course a favorite magazine for reading and one other little surprise. Thanks for hosting the swap Kelly and I will share what I receive soon!

Drawing Room

Anna Marie Horner just previewed her new line, "Drawing Room" on her blog. I love her descriptions of things she was thinking as she designed this line. I also love how it is so different from her other two lines and yet still has her touch on it. I can't wait to see it in person and hopefully have some soon. I am already dreaming up things to sew with them.

Thanks Frankie...

Recently Frankie posted little characters for different blogs. I just love them. Mine is of course ready with needle and thread. I don't know why but looking at these just makes me happy.

Super Tuesday

Whatever your political views, I hope you voted.

Getaway weekend

Our band: The Jerks

This past weekend we took a quick trip up to see friends for the Superbowl weekend. Sydney packed all her new toys and I made these cookies from Kelly. For anybody looking for a fun cookie recipe that is always a hit I would definitely recommend them (thanks for sharing Kelly). We are not huge football fans but a weekend filled with games and laughter was needed. Thanks to all of you for a wonderful weekend. I went to bed last night with a tickle in my throat but here's to having a productive week and NOT getting sick.

Snail Mail for Sydney

Sydney was delighted when the UPS lady brought her a package bright and early this morning from her Oma. It was filled with lots of goodies like new coloring and activity books, new twistable colors, and stickers. It also had a new Disney Princess book about manners (thank you Mom). The only thing not in the picture is the array of necklaces she sent for Sydney to wear on game day. Little S quickly threw them on over her PJs and ran around the house refusing to let me add them to the picture. Thanks again Mom.
